Zen Moments with Pencils

We usually associate pencils with art, recreation, and expressing our emotions. What can I do with pencils that could make something different, something new? That was what went into Gaving Aung Than’s mind before he launched the website http://zenpencils.com last February this 2012.

He said in his website “I was working in the boring corporate graphic design industry for 8 years before finally quitting at the end of 2011 to pursue my passion for illustration and cartooning. At my old job, when my boss wasn’t looking, I would waste time reading Wikipedia pages, mainly biographies about people whose lives where a lot more interesting than mine. Their stories and quotes eventually inspired me to leave my job to focus on what I really wanted to do. The idea of taking these inspiring quotes, combining them with my love of drawing and sharing them with others led to the creation of Zen Pencils.”

Gavin had this dream to inspire people and by his God-given talent, he thought of pursuing this dream and inspire other people as well. Gavin himself inspired me and such aspects in my life. I find his website really really amazing. Poems usually sound boring to me. Like when you read them in lines and paragraphs, I can’t understand them sometimes. But his idea to combine his passion of the arts and some words from random inspirational people is just brilliant! It made some people (especially me) understand some really deep poetic works. It can be really inspirational to some people since these words he transform into art aren’t only some words, they are inspiring! They allow us to rise up from my problems and tel ourselves “Oh there is hope! At least this man says so!”

Old chap Gavin here can really help people big time! Did you know? Simple poems like these can treat mental illnesses. People with issues of the mind needs some inspiration (Take that from me!). It lets them produce even a little ounce of hope. And once that hope is being processed and synthesized, they find themselves wrapped in the white light or the positive energies that keeps all the negatives away. Psychiatric patients do this little method once they encounter negatives on the way. They think of lovely thoughts, think of inspirations, read inspirational words to let them find that place they are looking for so that they keep themselves calm and stay away from any damage being done due to negative energy. This is one really effective method done by common patients which really helps them. And Gavin just gives them another way to accomplish this method. Just by going to the internet and logging into this lil’ website called zenpencils.com.

Here are some great poems and quotes from the site that I myself find interesting and really inspiring.
