Gays are Friends, not Fools!

Do you have any idea how much of the population of the whole World is gay? Well, me neither. All I know is that it doesn’t really matter if you are gay, straight or bi? As long as you stay true to yourself and that you stay true to your country and to your people, there is nothing to worry about.

I know you might be wondering why in the hell am I writing about gays? Well, this is my answer. Why not? They are people no different from us. We live with them everyday. It’s just that they are afraid. They know how people treat them. Well, not all people treat them the same. Some accept them, some judge them, some criticize them and some destroy them. What is really wrong with them? Nothing. Lady Gaga once said, “I’m beautiful in my way, cause God makes no mistakes, I’m on the right track, baby I was born this way!” This is actually true. God made us, and He also taught us to love one another. If you will judge others, just look in the mirror first. Before you look at the person you will judge, look at yourself first. And ask yourself, “Who am I to judge him/her?” Yes, that’s right! Who are you to do that? You might not know that the person you’ll judge may have cleaner heart than you. Who knows? Only God do.

Everything happens for a reason. Maybe you are destined to be like that in order to survive the ups and downs of your life. Always remember that you have to respect yourself. Think before you act. Maybe the reason why people hate you is because of the way you act, speak, or maybe you are disrespecting something that they respect. You have to think first. If this certain action will do you good or not. C’est la vie! (It’s life!) Anything can happen. And you are you because of you! If you are bullied you have to do something. If your are depressed, you have to do something. It’s not about being who your parents want you to be. It’s not about who your friends want you to be. It’s about who YOU want to be. Life is all about you. It’s who you are. And those people have nothing to do with that. They have to deal with it in one way or the other.

Lots of gay people are successful. They did what they have to. That stayed true all the way. They didn’t let anybody change them. Only God can change man. Nothing is wrong with trying. You may be afraid that if you do this, you might not survive because of who you are. You’re wrong! You may never know, nor assume, what will happen. Crazy thing happen in life! You have to try to move forward, make a step. One step at a time. And one day, you will so yourself up there, and you will look back to where you were and be proud of yourself.

Everybody knows Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia DeRossi right? She is lesbian and she is proud of it. She made it to the top of the show business as a great comedienne. She makes us laugh everyday on her show. She faced the consequences and she survived. Now she’s living happily with the one she loves. She really didn’t mind the people opposing her. In fact, there are more people who like her then those who don’t. We’ve got enough proof here, she have 13 Emmy Awards, 3 American Comedy Awards, a Saturn Award, a Teen Choice Award and still more to come in the next awards. She not only makes people laugh, she inspires them. She’s a really great person. She helps in charities and foundations and she supports Global AIDS Awareness. She’s really having a happy life now, with staggering pride.

Now there’s a really sweet and happy couple. Everyone knows the guy on the right. It’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson! He plays the role of Mitchell Pritchett on the sitcom Modern Family. His partner is Justin Mikita, who is a lawyer, civil rights activist and developed the American Foundation for Equal Rights which is leading the fight for marriage equality. This is really one happy couple, I can tell. They too faced being bullied once, of course, any gay should be prepared for that. But look at them now, they’re facing life ahead of them and the great part there is that they face it together! Justin supports Jesse’s acting and broadway career and Jesse supports Justin’s law career. It’s just every gay man’s dream to find his prince and these two found theirs. They live now together and with pride.

Both really great actors and great parents too. Neil Patrick Harris plays Barney Stinson on the famous How I Met Your Mother, and David is an entertainment news correspondent for E! They’re both really happy now. They are parents to baby twins and they are doing really great. They now live free, free from worries, free from fear, they just live and they deserve it. That’s what you deserve too. Having a great family doesn’t require a mother a father and some babies, family means you live in one roof where you all love each other. You all look for each other’s back. You all accept each other and you won’t mind. That is what a great family is. As long as everyone’s happy, you can be proud to live with the people you love and who loves you.

Who is the happier man? He who has braved the storm of life and lived? Or he who has stayed on the shore and merely existed?

– Hunter S. Thompson

Just take a time from your day to stare at your reflection in the mirror. You don’t have to be someone else, you have to be you. And if you think you are not brave enough to face everything, then find someone who will help you. Never stop! Life is too short to doubt yourself. You have to take every moment you have to fight for yourself, not for someone else, but for you! You just have to be you and everything in life will be in its right places. No matter lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, you have to promise yourself (not me! but you!) that you have to survive. You have to face everyone and be open. Stop hiding in the closet. The true people who are true to themselves know what the right thing to do, and that is to accept you. It’s okay to be afraid but you have to face it, face your fear and be proud!

Zen Moments with Pencils

We usually associate pencils with art, recreation, and expressing our emotions. What can I do with pencils that could make something different, something new? That was what went into Gaving Aung Than’s mind before he launched the website last February this 2012.

He said in his website “I was working in the boring corporate graphic design industry for 8 years before finally quitting at the end of 2011 to pursue my passion for illustration and cartooning. At my old job, when my boss wasn’t looking, I would waste time reading Wikipedia pages, mainly biographies about people whose lives where a lot more interesting than mine. Their stories and quotes eventually inspired me to leave my job to focus on what I really wanted to do. The idea of taking these inspiring quotes, combining them with my love of drawing and sharing them with others led to the creation of Zen Pencils.”

Gavin had this dream to inspire people and by his God-given talent, he thought of pursuing this dream and inspire other people as well. Gavin himself inspired me and such aspects in my life. I find his website really really amazing. Poems usually sound boring to me. Like when you read them in lines and paragraphs, I can’t understand them sometimes. But his idea to combine his passion of the arts and some words from random inspirational people is just brilliant! It made some people (especially me) understand some really deep poetic works. It can be really inspirational to some people since these words he transform into art aren’t only some words, they are inspiring! They allow us to rise up from my problems and tel ourselves “Oh there is hope! At least this man says so!”

Old chap Gavin here can really help people big time! Did you know? Simple poems like these can treat mental illnesses. People with issues of the mind needs some inspiration (Take that from me!). It lets them produce even a little ounce of hope. And once that hope is being processed and synthesized, they find themselves wrapped in the white light or the positive energies that keeps all the negatives away. Psychiatric patients do this little method once they encounter negatives on the way. They think of lovely thoughts, think of inspirations, read inspirational words to let them find that place they are looking for so that they keep themselves calm and stay away from any damage being done due to negative energy. This is one really effective method done by common patients which really helps them. And Gavin just gives them another way to accomplish this method. Just by going to the internet and logging into this lil’ website called

Here are some great poems and quotes from the site that I myself find interesting and really inspiring.

The Vampire Foundation

The IS FOUNDATION aims to empower, educate and collaborate with people and projects to positively impact the planet and its creatures.

Ian Somerhalder loving the green

We all know Ian Somerhalder as the vicious Damon Salvatore of the famed The Vampire Diaries. Ian recently visited the Philippines to promote his foundation, the Ian Somerhalder Foundation. The foundation promotes saving our nature and the environment. This proves that Ian is not only a great actor, but he also have a heart to help our nature for our use and also for the future generation. The said foundation is just one of the many organizations who wants to lead us to making our environment clean and safe. Some of these agencies or organizations are Greenpeace, EarthFirst, Wildlife Conservation Society, The National Geography Society and many others.

Big celebrities usually support some charities or foundations, but Mr. Somerhalder here did a change. He made his own foundation, created by him and is for the betterment of our environment. This is really such a noble job to do. Instead of spending all his money on his restaurant reservations and casino coins, he spends his earning to support this foundation.

Here are some of the motives of the Ian Somerhalder Foundation:

  • Distributing funds and resources towards global conservation, green energy development/deployment and educational tools.
  • Creating awareness that global deforestation can be seen as a national/international and global security risk.
  • Creating mobility by engaging and supporting of the most powerful, yet disregarded, disrespected and overlooked population on the planet – our youth.
  • Ending animal cruelty and promoting programs such as: “species specific sterilization drugs”, transferring and re-training of abandoned animals into assistive and therapy guides.
  • Supporting and creating sustainable strategies for “no-kill shelters”

I think everyone deserves do be part of this change that Mr. Somerhalder is starting. Let’s help him and we can all make a change. Visit the site at Let us follow Ian in this because he is a leader. Let’s all get involved in this and someday, we’ll be proud to say “I helped Ian Somerhalder save the nature!” The site also has some really cool features. There is a portion for the youth, the kids and the ISF book club. Volunteering is easy, you will just email them at and you will give them your age, your interests/passion and your skills.

This is a really inspirational act and it is for a cause so don’t worry about meeting strangers. We are all here for a cause, and Ian found his. I hope you find yours too. I hope one day, we can all be part of one cause, to make Earth a better place and to be proud that we are earthlings!

School was out for summer!

Summer in the Philippines began almost two months ago. A lot have happened this summer of 2012. Lots of exciting stuff, and also lots of boring stuff. Lots have inspired me, lots have downed me. Lots of people, lots of places. The only thing we missed was school. But in the end, you can never regret a single second of your life because in one way or the other, things can be for your own good. Things happen not just because they happen. They happen for something and that something is something worth happening, trust me! Cherish every moment, everyday of your life, be happy and be proud!

The summer started with my sister graduation. She have survived 4 years in Manila Science High School. Now she goes to college to pursue a career she dreams of. She will take up Industrial Pharmacy for 5 years in college. While I will still wait for two more years before graduating high school, then going off to college for my turn to pursue my architecture dream.

Went for ice cream after graduation

Of course, in any graduation, there should be a graduation ball. It was held maybe a week after my sister’s graduation at Sofitel Hotel. While they were partying inside, my mom and I got to enjoy the hotel view and some fresh ocean air.

Look at that view of the West Philippine Sea

Then the real fun starts! Mom decided to take us to a trip to Enchanted Kingdom in Laguna one Sunday. We woke up early to go to church then we left for the trip that lasted for almost an hour and a half. Then the day ended at about 8pm when we had dinner and left to head back home.

Yeah, that’s us!

Dinner time with some live music

Very tired but a very awesome day

After maybe a few weeks, we went back again to Laguna for an overnight outing. Mom was at work and she called about lunchtime to tell us to pack some clothes and be ready to leave at about dinnertime. Of course, I was excited to be out of the house again. We’ve been doing nothing since the last trip we had. Me and my sis were reading lots of books already. So, I hurried upstairs to get a bag and come clothes and of course some swimwear. I remember i got really excited that I was also the one who packed my sister’s stuff. Packing wasn’t really that hard, I enjoyed it! So, at about 6pm I think, we left and went to McDonald’s and waited for our mom. So when mom arrived, we left and went to a private hot spring resort in Pansol, Laguna. We were there with some of mom’s friends. I remember enjoying the ride because it was dark outside and the highway air was rushing into the window.

It was really fun! We started swimming at maybe 12 in the midnight, the water was hot (that’s why it’s called a hot spring resort) and there was this tiny slide. I think we slept at about 3am and woke at 8pm. We went swimming again in the morning. But I got sunburned, just think of the hot water and the scorching sun combined! We had free swimming lessons from mom so it was fun! Well, we left the resort to head back home at 3 in the afternoon. It was yet another event of the summer we really enjoyed.

Me and my sister

What? It was really hot!

Yey! ❤

Well, that’s about it for our summer getaways. Of course, we also watched movies, went out for lunch or dinner or just a snack. This was my sister’s last summer before college, so she had to do some enrollments and medical check-ups and stuff.

Oh, The Avengers was out this summer and luckily, we had the time and chance to see out. Thanks to my mom! We also watched The Dark Shadows after my sister’s enrollment.

The was this Dark Shadows chair in Greenbelt

We had lunch @ La Piadina before watching The Avengers

Wearing my new Armani shirt! Thanks to my mom ❤

We sure had lots of fun this summer! Well, other than those family getaways, I also had some quality time with my Sophomore classmates. Since we’re already turning juniors, we enjoyed some of our time going to the mall and skating (yey!).

That’s it, my reader! Thanks for joining me in looking back to some of my favorite summer events. Quality family time is always important in a person’s life. Look at us, mom’s got to work, my sister goes to college, and I also go to school. We don’t see each other 24 hours a day you know, but we can still call ourselves a very happy family. We enjoy the tiniest moments we could, either going out to the mall, or just watching some movies at home. We should still cherish every second because no one knows what could happen later or tomorrow. As long as we’re staying alive, happy, healthy and safe, never regret anything. That’s why I always pray at night to keep my family safe and healthy for tomorrow. Be happy and be proud for having your family!

Hi guys! My name is Robyn and this is my first blog. It debuts today, 28 May 2012. I am from Manila, Philippines. I am a part-time student and full-time son and brother. I have a sister, two years older than me. We both love reading books, but I only got the whole reading books thing from her. I so love to write, I write some stories, but haven’t published them yet to the public, just wait! I take some time from my daily life trying to e good at art like my mom. Music is also my passion. I listen to music while studying or travelling. I work out everyday. I try to give my body shape, since I’m a tall, dark, skinny kid. I like speaking  for myself. I am a pretty frank kid. I have big dreams. I have big ambitions. I have lots of things I want to do in life, and I start at living a simple life. Nonetheless, I never dreamed of a simple future, I want it to be like a fantasy, something worth dreaming of. And I want other kids out there, living inside a box, to do the same. Let’s rise up and make a spot for ourselves. When  I grow up, I want to be an inspiration to kids who grow up like me. I want them to be free, to have a voice for themselves, to live a dream! And these are the reasons why I am proud of myself, I am not an ordinary kid in my eyes, but someone worth being proud of!
